Who we are

Scribe is a meeting recording and transcription app built by SnusBox Ltd. We take privacy seriously — your recordings and transcripts are your data, not ours.

What we collect

- Audio recordings — collected when you tap record within the app

- Transcripts and AI-generated summaries — generated by AssemblyAI, a third-party AI service, when your audio is processed

- Your name and email address — collected when you create an account via Apple Sign In

- Basic usage data — collected automatically via PostHog to help us improve the app

- Subscription status — collected automatically via RevenueCat to manage your subscription

How we use your data

When you create a recording, your audio data is transmitted to AssemblyAI, a third-party AI service, for processing. AssemblyAI generates transcripts, summaries, action items, and speaker identification from your audio. Your audio is not retained by AssemblyAI after processing is complete.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties beyond the services required to operate the app.

Third-party services

We use the following services to power Scribe:

- AssemblyAI — a third-party AI service used for transcription and AI analysis of your audio recordings

- Supabase — secure cloud storage and authentication

- RevenueCat — subscription management

- PostHog — anonymous usage analytics

All third-party service providers listed above are contractually required to protect your data to the same or equivalent standard as described in this policy. Each provider maintains their own privacy policy and data processing agreements.

Data storage

Your recordings and transcripts are stored securely in Supabase and are only accessible to you. We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual recordings at any time from within the app. To delete your account and all associated data, use the "Delete Account" option in Settings.

Your rights

You have the right to:

- Access the data we hold about you

- Delete your account and all associated data

- Export your recordings and transcripts

- Opt out of analytics at any time

Children

Scribe is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use of Scribe after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
